The Landing Gear Market specializes in the design, qualification, manufacture and repair and overhaul of landing gears and flight critical components to a customer base that extends from the OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to the Operators in both the commercial and military markets.

Summary of position

Source Inspection (FAI’s), Audits & Audit Checklists
•Source Inspection and FAI review at suppliers. Approval f FAI’s in Net Inspect
•Update audit checklists for all Mfg. performed by suppliers to ensure Robust Product Quality
•Audit to Supplier Quality Requirements Audits (HPS 010, 011, 020, 710, etc)
•Maintain and control Supplier System Audits (AS9100/NADCAP)
•Product Audits (DSIP Delegated Supplier Inspection Program – HPS012)
•Assist with internal audit program at HD Sites (AS9100) as applicable
•Co-ordinate the HPS020 (Model Based Definition) audit program
•Support customer audits (DND, Boeing, Bell, CASE, IAMCO, Lockheed, NG, Goodrich, etc)
•NADCAP support (procedural review) internal + external (Task Group)
•Support regulatory agencies and registrar audits.

Quality Manual, procedures, instructions, quality plans, Supplier Portal, Quality Alerts, HPS, forms, tags, waivers, others

Corrective/Preventative Action
•Investigation and follow-up (Proactive C/A) including 8-step RCCA
•Acceptance of all supplier C/A’s in NMS system
•Supplier Corrective Action review and training (as applicable) with focus on follow-up
•Escape Resolution
•Support Quality Improvement Plans & SPSI (Supplier Paid Source Inspection) where needed

Supplier Maintenance
•Maintain/Add/Delete all supplier Approvals by completing the appropriate forms. BaaN & HD ASL to be updated with this info.
•Update all HPS audit checklists for machining suppliers with more specific questions to improve robustness & effectiveness of Approval process
•Evaluation and addition of New Suppliers working with Procurement including initial visits
•Supplier Training
•Maintaining the DSIP suppliers assigned to you

Administrative tasks
•As directed by the SQA Director
•Support weekly SQA group meetings
•Assist with Quality Plans
•Support CAB reviews with Supplier Data metrics (Qlikview) to support the sites

Technical
•Support all technical issues and investigations related to Supplier Quality Issues
•Additional support as requested by the SQA Director

Main responsibilities

Need to transform the SQA organization into a self-sustaining group with robust controls to manage risk and improve overall supplier performance
Use Process and Mfg. expertise to completely overhaul our Supplier Audit process for Mfg. and Processing using detailed audit checklists to reduce risk, improve performance and finalize/maintain approval status
Source Inspection & FAI’s, supplier training and C/A resolution with focus on follow-up

Qualifications requises et exigences

•University graduate (preferred)
•Processing – hands-on experience with the following (Chrome, Cad (LHE, Ti-Cad), Prime, Paint, HVOF, Anodize (Chromic, Sulphuric & Hard), Nickle (Sulphamate & Electroless), S.P., H.T. & NDT
•Experience with Aerospace Landing Gear (Manufacturing/Machining of Low Strength Alloy Steel, SS, Titanium, Aluminum, Aermet, etc.)
•Computer literate and familiar with MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.
•BaaN MRP experience considered an asset
•Minimum five (5) years of Aerospace Quality Experience preferred
•Minimum two (2) years Aerospace Auditing experience preferred
•Ability to interpret technical aerospace drawings and 3D models/CATIA.
•Previous work experience in Landing gear with Bombardier, Goodrich, Messier-Dowty, Boeing, Lockheed, Bell considered an asset
•Recognized (AS 9100 preferred) auditor training experience an asset
•Ability to perform well under pressure and independently
•Excellent communication skills and professional attitude working with suppliers
•On-Site supplier visits major portion of work scope (often changes in schedule or last minute planning required)
•High level of responsibility in meeting daily inspecton eg. Visual/dimensional/technical requirements.
•Much of the work will be done independently (must make decisions on their own or with little supervision)
•Decision making skills based upon technical knowledge and “know-how”
•Liaison with Customers, suppliers and all internal groups at all sites
•Extensive travel is required (USA & CANADA predominately)
•Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
